4 Rides To Choose From (A Total Breakdown Of Each Ride)

Whether you’re here for the wine, the views, or the brutal climbs, Cycle Chelan 2026 has a spot for you. We’ve officially moved to a four-ride lineup this year, including the return of a fan favorite. Since every route integrates a lake crossing, you’ll get a unique perspective of the water from both shores regardless of the distance you choose!

If you’re still trying to decide which starting line to head for, here is a quick breakdown of each ride to help you find your spot in the lineup.

1. Cycle di Vino (30 Miles)

This is our “leisure” option, though you’ll still get a solid workout in. It’s a beginner-to-intermediate route that hugs the shores of Lake Chelan. The best part? This ride is designed around our local wine country. You’ll have special stops at several valley wineries along the way. It’s the perfect choice if you want to see the sights and enjoy the social side of the valley without spending the entire day in the saddle.

  • The Vibe: Relaxed and social.
  • Elevation: Roughly 1,300 feet of climbing.
  • Terrain: Mostly flat stretches along the lake with some gentle rollers.
  • Key Feature: This route is specifically built for wine lovers, with planned stops at several local wineries.
  • Best For: Beginners, social groups, and anyone who thinks a bike ride is better when there’s a glass of Rosé at the end (or in the middle).

2. Lake Loop (45 Miles)

The Lake Loop is a classic intermediate ride. It covers both the north and south shores of Lake Chelan, giving you a full perspective of the water. You’ll head up the south shore toward Field’s Point for some of the best views in the area. It’s more of a distance challenge than the Vino ride, but it’s still very manageable for anyone who rides regularly.

  • The Vibe: Scenic and steady.
  • Elevation: About 1,700 feet of gain.
  • Terrain: A full loop of the lake that covers both the north and south shores.
  • Key Feature: The climb up to Field’s Point. It’s a bit of work, but the view of the fjord-like upper lake is the best in the valley.
  • Best For: Intermediate riders looking for great photos and a solid morning workout.

3. Metric Century (62 Miles)

Now we’re getting into the grit. Similarly to the Lake Loop, it hits both shores, but it adds extra mileage and elevation to test your legs. This is a great pick for intermediate to advanced riders who want a challenging day of climbing followed by a very deserved post-ride meal.

  • The Vibe: Gritty and rewarding.
  • Elevation: 2,265 feet of vertical climbing.
  • Terrain: Hits both shores like the Lake Loop but adds extra miles and steeper sections to test your endurance.
  • Key Feature: Navigating the “up-lake” sections where the roads get a bit quieter and the climbs get a bit longer.
  • Best For: Advanced riders or anyone training for a full century who wants to see how their legs handle the Lake Chelan hills.

4. Signature Challenge 100 (100 Miles)

It’s back! We haven’t offered the full century in a few years, but the Signature Challenge 100 is officially on the 2026 calendar. This is a 100-mile epic that includes the legendary McNeil Canyon climb. It’s steep, it’s long, and the views from the top are unbeatable. If you’re looking to push your limits and see every inch of the valley’s beauty, this is your ride.

  • The Vibe: Epic and challenging.
  • Elevation: 3,100 feet including the grinding McNeil Canyon behemoth.
  • Terrain: A massive loop encompassing the entire valley and beyond.
  • Key Feature: McNeil Canyon. This legendary climb is famous for its steep grades and switchbacks. It’s the ultimate badge of honor for Lake Chelan cyclists.
  • Best For: Advanced long-distance enthusiasts and those who live for a good mountain ascent.

No matter which distance you choose, every rider gets access to our fully supported rest stops and the post-ride celebration. We’ll have local food and award-winning wines waiting for you at the finish. Registration is open now. Pick your route and we’ll see you in June!
